Welcome Back and Welcome to the John Greenleaf Whittier Middle School!
We are happy and humbled to have the unique opportunity to be involved in your lives!
The entire JG Whittier staff is keenly aware of the responsibility placed upon us, to provide all of you with the best educational experience possible, and will strive to do so in a safe, supportive, nurturing environment.
As you begin to become familiar with our school, we hope you will discover that we will work diligently to offer a “user-friendly” environment, one that places your child’s safety, social, emotional and academic well-being as our top priorities.
We are dedicated to constant improvement in these areas and will take the time to reach those goals one program, one family and one child at a time.
The middle school years are an extremely confusing and interesting time for young adolescents. Children experience many physical, social and emotional changes as they begin to develop and mature in these areas. More often than not children of middle school age will go through awkward and confusing periods, and many need assistance in navigating their social, emotional and academic worlds.
That is why we are here! Please contact us at anytime with any questions or concerns you may have about your child. We are more than happy to work with you and offer any assistance and guidance we can.
It is our sincere hope that your child has a wonderful experience while attending the JG Whittier Middle School.

- Homeroom Rosters will be posted on the front door of the school on Saturday, August 26, 2017.
- First Day of school is Tuesday, August 29, 2017. Students can arrive at school beginning at 8:05 am.
- Please do not report earlier as there is no adult supervision until 8:05 am.
There will be an Open House on August 28, 2017:
- GRADE 5 Open House will be from 4-5 pm.
- GRADES 6-8 Open House will be held from 6-7 pm.
