JGW Update 6/15/26
Hello JGW Families
Today marks the last (short) week of school and it is so hard to believe. Here are this week’s updates:
PROMOTION CEREMONY & DANCE
The Class of 2026 Promotion Ceremony is scheduled to begin promptly at 6:00PM in the main parking lot. This is a BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair) general seating event. Handicapped parking is available in the front of the school. Parking is available in the gravel lot by the new building and at Pentucket Lake Elementary. If rain is in the forecast then the ceremony will be moved into the gymnasium.
We are looking for parents of students in grade 5-7 parents to help set up for the promotion dance on Monday from 1:30PM - 5:30PM. This will allow 8th grade parents to get home and prepare for attending the ceremony. Please consider coming to the planning meeting scheduled for tomorrow night (6/9) at 7:00PM in the Cafeteria.
MEDICATION
Please pick up your child’s excess medications from the JGW Health Office before the last day of school. The office is only open during school hours from 8:00AM - 3:10PM. The nurses are no longer here for extended afternoons because the Discovery Club after school program has ended. Administrators cannot return medications as we are not authorized to do so. All medications left over on the last day of school will be considered abandoned and then properly disposed.
SPRING 2026 SAFETY & SUPPORT FAMILY SURVEY
Please take our survey that was developed in conjunction with the JGW Site Council. This is an anonymous survey and we hope that you can provide your honest feedback. Since this is anonymous we cannot provide any incentives to participate, so we hope that we can prevail upon your senses of generosity and service to our school community. Eight people have responded to date, and we would like to hear from more of you. We know that your time is valuable. Your feedback will help us improve and make JGW even better next year.

FIELD DAY
Tuesday 6/16 is Field Day at JGW. Students should be dressed appropriately for some outdoor fun. Each grade will have approximately 50 minutes outside for fun in the sun!
SUMMER READING
Please see the reading lists attached to this email for titles for grades 5-8. Reading books over the summer is a great way to relax, keep up with your learning, and prepare for the next grade. There are some great books on this list. Order a copy online to keep or check out a copy at the Haverhill Public Library.
