Hello JGW Families,

I hope that you had a great weekend. Here are a few updates:

FROM THE HEALTH OFFICE

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The School Health Office would like to inform you that our annual Massachusetts school health screenings will be conducted throughout the year beginning the week of September 28th. The following screenings will be conducted by grade:

● 5th Grade: Vision and Postural

● 6th Grade: Postural

● 7th Grade: Vision, Postural, Hearing, and BMI

● 8th Grade: Postural

These screenings are a routine part of the school health program and are intended to help identify any potential health concerns that may require further evaluation. If you would like to opt your child out of any or all of these screenings, please email Angela.platt@haverhill-ps.org. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the School Health Office.

ATHLETICS

• Monday 9/14 & 9/15 Tryouts for Girls and Boys Soccer 3:15pm - 4:15pm

• Thursday 9/17 Cross-Country practice 3:15pm - 4:15pm

STUDENT LOCKERS

Students must have either a combination or keyed lock to secure their lockers. This is essential so that students can store their cell phone and headphones/ earbuds which are not to be used during school hours.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS

• 9/23/26 - Site Council 6:00pm - 7:00pm in the Library

• 9/30/26 is School Picture Day

• 10/16/26 is the 3rd Annual High School & Career Fair
