Hello JGW Families,
I hope that you have had a great weekend. Here are a few updates for the week(s) ahead.
SKI CLUB
Ski Club will begin Friday, January 8th at Bradford Ski from 3:00-7:00.
What is Ski Club?
Students at JGW meet at Bradford and can ski with friends. As the ski club monitor, I pick up rentals, support logistics, and respond to any emergencies.
This year’s pricing:
Lift only: $225
Ski or snowboard Lesson: $365
* students who take lessons can only ski in the learning area for the season
Ski or snowboard rental: $150
Helmet rental: $30
If you are interested but would like more information, please email me at jamie.backstrom@haverhill-ps.org. Sign up packets will be available in the cafeteria beginning Thursday, October 1st and will be due Friday, October 30th.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
We are looking to hire three lunch monitors. This is a part-time position paying $15 per hour at two hours per day (ten hours per week) from 10:30AM - 12:30pm. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for “parent’s hours”. Ideal candidates will have strong senses of teamwork, patience, and safety mindset as well as effective communication abilities (with students and adults). NJHS
The JGW NJHS is hosting a Corn Maze event on Tuesday October 20th at Crescent Farms from 5:30PM - 7:00PM. Please see the attached flyer. We are hoping that a big crowd comes out to support this awesome student organization! Tickets are $12 and will be sold in advance starting tomorrow during lunch blocks in the cafeteria. Pizza and drinks will be on sale too! I hope to see you there!!

We are pleased to announce our upcoming School Apparel Pop-Up Store. This is a great opportunity to purchase official school clothing and spirit wear.
JG Whittier Apparel Store - Orders due 10/18/26
Store opens today Oct 4th and continues thru Oct 18th
The pop-up store will feature a variety of items, including:
T-shirts
Sweatshirts and hoodies
Hats and accessories
Other school-branded merchandise
We encourage everyone to stop by and support our school while showcasing their school pride.
FALL FESTIVAL
Our Annual Fall Festival is scheduled for Thursday October 29th. Students can enter contests to win prizes (see attached flyers). All of students’ entries will be on display gallery walk-style for parents and visitors to see! We will have a trunk or treat and food and drinks will be on sale as well. Please plan on joining us for this great event!!
