We would like to thank school staff and the community for their understanding and support in dealing with today’s incidents. As you know, due to heavy police activity in the city, schools and Haverhill police determined that a shelter-in-place for the safety of our students was warranted. Simultaneously we had a threat issued to the Pentucket Lake School , safety protocols were immediately implemented, police were called to the scene and the threat was determined to not be credible.

The School Department and city takes the safety of our citizens and particularly our students very seriously. We thank the parents for their quick response and understanding of the situation. We thank the school staff and police officers for rallying around the support and safety of our students.
