November News: This month, our school has focused on the theme of generosity. Based on this theme, the JGW community has noticed students who have stood out, and we are hopeful that these generous acts will continue throughout the remainder of the month and beyond. As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, JGW hopes to see students continue to be kind, be helpful, and be willing to share and support others at school and at home.

PTO UPDATES
The JGW PTO has teamed up with la Pizza di Forno to “Raise Some Dough”. Pizza kits can be purchased for $15 and include dough, sauce, cheese and one topping. Students can have fun cooking their own pizza while helping the school. All orders must be in by Tuesday, December 14th. Flyers will go home with students, and be posted to our school’s website in the Principal’s Weekly Update.
The PTO has agreed to change future meeting dates to the 2nd Thursday of each month from 6:00pm-7:00pm in the JGW Teacher’s Room. The dates are as follows:

SPORTS:
BASKETBALL: Boy’s basketball will practice on Monday November 29th. The boy’s and girl’s first game is scheduled for Wednesday, December 1st at Consentino
CLUB NEWS:
DANCE TEAM: Dance Team will practice on Wednesday 12/1 in the Gym.
NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY: We are still collecting canned goods and toiletries through the last week of November, so keep bringing in those goodies. Thank you to all who have already donated to this great cause. We have received so many donations so far!! The next meeting will be Tuesday November 30th from 3-4 in room 11. We will be sorting through all the donations and coming up with a plan for the gift cards that Mr. Larry Trevette has so generously got for us.
JR VIP: We will be having a meeting on Tuesday, 11/30 next week after school from 245 to 345. We will be discussing the Leadership Conference we attended last week and start planning a holiday party. All old and new members are welcome to attend. Please make sure to secure your own ride home unless you are part of the Discovery Program.
MODEL UN: The next meeting will be December 2nd. At that meeting, everyone should be done with the first three paragraphs of their paper. This will give us time to make sure we are ready for our conference.

CLASSROOM NEWS:
GRADE 6:
Ms. Hamel: I am incredibly THANKFUL to be working with each of my students. I am hoping the holiday season is WONDERFUL for each of you and your families.
Let’s get ready for Term 2 of our school year and start it out right by showing up, completing all your work with strong effort, and respecting one another each and every day!
GRADE 7:
Mrs. Berthiaume:. On Wednesday, December 1, we will kick off the new trimester with our classroom spelling bees! The top two winners from each ELA class will compete in the school spelling bee in the gym on February 4. Good luck! Happy Thanksgiving to all and Happy Hanukkah! (Hanukkah begins Sunday evening.)
SPECIALISTS:
Physical Education: (Mr. Demarais): We will be switching into trimester two next wednesday. I will be having green and red for PE. All students should be prepared to begin each class with an outdoor 1/2 mile walk around the school weather permitting. Be sure to bring a warm coat and hat and gloves for the walk.
