Explore Haverhill High School’s Career Technical Education Programs
“Where Hands-On Learning Meets Real-World Experience”

Dear HPS Eighth Grade Families:

Haverhill High School is a leader in STEM education and is excited to announce five Career Technical Education (CTE) Programs that prepare students for in-demand livable wage careers. The Greater Haverhill region is the home of many companies and institutions in the fields of healthcare, life science, and technologies.  Haverhill High School’s CTE programs align to the needs of these industries in order to prepare students for college and promising careers.

Incoming 9th grade students can enroll in one of the following programs: 

• Information Technology; 

• Computer Science and Web Development; 

• Healthcare Occupations;

• PLTW Engineering/Manufacturing; or 

• PLTW Biomedical Science.

Students must submit an application in order to enroll in any of these programs for the start of their 9th grade year in the Fall of 2024.  Parents and students can learn information and apply at the Haverhill High School CTE webpage at https://cte.haverhill-ps.org/  The deadline for student completion of the online application is February 16, 2024. 

During November, HPS eighth grade students toured Haverhill High School and learned about each of the five programs listed above, and CTE staff visited students in the 8th grade science classes to discuss each of these programs.  Please ask your children what they thought of the tour and if they are interested in applying to any of these CTE programs.
