JGW Update

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

From all of the staff at JGW, we want to wish everyone a Happy, Healthy, and Safe Holiday Season! We appreciate the continued partnership in order to help all of our students be successful during these incredibly challenging times! We also appreciate everyone’s continued patience and support as we navigate these challenges together. Please take the time to do a little relaxing and enjoy your families over the next 11 days! More than ever we hope that everyone is able to recharge and prepare themselves for a much-anticipated New Year!! We will see you all in 2021!!

There are just a few things we want everyone to be aware of going into Winter Break:

  • Winter break is from December 24th-January 3rd.
  • Report Cards are available via the Parent/Student Portal starting on the afternoon of Wednesday, December 23rd. Please note that physical copies of the report card will not be coming home with students or mailed home. Please follow these directions to gain access:
    • Click on Parent & Student Resources
    • Click on Parent & Student Portal Login
    • Click Log-in
    • Use your student’s username & password to login
    • Click on Student Portal (top of page)
    • Select Report Cards/Progress Reports
    • Click Download
  • Teachers will be emailing home an electronic form acknowledging that parents have reviewed their student’s report card. Could you please make sure to fill that form out and submit it by Friday, 1/8/2021 at the latest.

  • Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled to be held remotely on the evening of Tuesday, 1/5/2021. Staff will be sending detailed information to families in regard to signing up for meetings. Please stay tuned…

TRAVEL GUIDELINES: Please be advised of Massachusetts travel guidelines outlines below if you are travelling for the holidays. This may affect return to school after travel. All visitors entering Massachusetts, including returning residents, who do not meet an exemption, are required to:

  • Complete the Massachusetts travel form at the link below prior to arrival, unless you are visiting from a lower risk state designated by the Department of Public Health. As of right now, there are no lower risk states, but this is subject to change.

  • Quarantine for 10 days or produce a negative COVID-19 test result that has been administered up to 72-hours prior to your arrival in Massachusetts.

If your COVID-19 test result has not been received prior to arrival, visitors, and residents must quarantine until they receive a negative test result. If you have received a COVID-19 test result, please send results to the school nurse at kelsey.cartwright@haverhill-ps.org. It can also be faxed to 978-372-5999, however this may not be checked as promptly over break. You can also reach out to Nurse Kelsey if you have any questions.

ATTENDANCE NEWS: ****Attendance Department School Every Day Winter 2021 Contest**** Every student that participates in school each day from January 4th until February 12th will be entered into a contest to win a $25 gift card. There will be several winners, so make sure to be in school every day!!
