Hello JGW Community
We had a great second week of school and our scholars are starting to learn our core values (STAR). One statement I say every morning on our morning announcements is “leave JGW better than you found it” this is to help our scholars build pride in their school and value their place in this community. We are off to a strong start!

September Family Event- Nature Walk around Pentucket Lake: Date and time of event: 9/29 at 5:00PM-7:00 PM. Come enjoy a night of hiking and learning with friends from your school community. Chorus Club: is BACK!! The Chorus Club will be marching in The Santa Parade in November! Plus other performances during this school year.
Chorus will begin this Tuesday 9/13, after school until 4:45pm and will meet every Tuesday and Thursday in the Music Room. Please make sure your ride is here to pick you up promptly at 4:45pm. There is no transportation home available. See Mr. Gariepy for more information.

From our Cheer coach Ms. Hamel: Mrs. Hamel will be conducting Cheer Basics on Wednesday mornings before school in the gym. If you would like to learn more about cheerleading and possibly try out for the team- head to the gym every Wednesday morning at 7:30 or whenever you get dropped off. Cheer Basics will begin next Wednesday- September 14th. Contact Mrs. Hamel with any questions. Cheer is open to all grades! Come in workout clothes.
Morning Volleyball: Anyone scholar interested in learning how to play volleyball can sign up in the cafe next week. Morning lessons will happen in the gym on Fridays starting next week 9/16. This is open to anyone grades 6-8 that might be interested in playing.

Routines: Establishing a routine of daily attendance helps reduce stress at home and supports a habit of attendance that will help your teenager get and keep a job.
Engagement: Being in school helps students to get to know each other and school staff and builds relationships that can motivate participation in learning.
Access to Resources: Schools provide access to valuable resources such as meals, health, mental health supports and fun enrichment activities such as sports, clubs, music, and other afterschool and summer programs.
Learning: Students who attend school regularly do better academically in middle school and are more likely to graduate from high school.
