Exciting news for the upcoming week. The school store is going to open on Tuesday. Scholars can use their STAR POINTS earned for showing our core values during the school day. We are looking forward to rewarding our kids that put in hard work everyday. Be on the lookout for scholars bringing home smaller prizes or JGW swag.

**CHEER TRYOUT INFORMATION:
~PRACTICES: Are to learn the cheers and the halftime dance. These days are: October 11th, 13th & 14th. You do NOT need to be at all practices to try out. You only need to be there to learn the cheers and dance. You are welcome to be at all 3.
~TRYOUTS: Monday, Oct. 17th and Tuesday, Oct. 18th. You only need to be at one tryout. Once you have completed your try out- you can leave.
~RESULTS: Will be posted on Wednesday, October 19th.

JGW Book Fair: Tuesday, October 11th – Friday, October 14th in the library.
Parent Teacher Conferences: October 27, 2022, 6:00PM -8:00PM
8th Grade Grade High School Transition: Mrs. DeLuca, School Counselor for 8th grade will be meeting with all 8th grade students in small groups to discuss/show a powerpoint presentation regarding the Transition to High School. Many helpful topics will be covered. As the year moves along, Mrs. DeLuca will upload all important 8th grade important topics in an 8th Grade Communication Google Classroom. Please have your child share their login information with you to view:

Morning Homework Help: If your scholar is interested in receiving homework help we have it every morning from 8:05am-8:25am in the art room.
Morning Basketball: We will have morning basketball every Friday starting at 8:05am

INFORMATIONAL 8th Grade WASHINGTON DC TRIP MEETING
Wednesday October 5th
6pm – about 7pm
JG Whittier Cafeteria
This meeting is for those interested in attending the Washington DC trip in the Spring of 2023. School personnel and a representative from Capital Tours will be in attendance to describe the trip and answer any questions.

We are asking all families to carve your best Jack-O-Lantern(s) and drop them off at our school between Monday, October 17th and Wednesday, October 19th(please do not bring pumpkins prior to this date).
