Hello JGW Community
We had an exciting week here at JGW. The school store opened, we had our STAR POET SOCIETY TOWN HALL and we played our first home soccer game on campus in almost a decade. The team at JGW wants to continue to give scholars opportunities to connect with this community.
NO SCHOOL: Monday October 10th
HALF DAY: WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 12TH
School ID and Lanyards: All scholars will receive a school id and JGW lanyard. The expectation is that they will wear them everyday. Our 5th and 6th grade scholars will leave them every afternoon with their homeroom teacher. The 7th and 8th grade will be expected to bring back and forth everyday to school. We will review their responsibilities with the kids before we hand them out. Our target date to give out IDs is Monday October 17th.
8th Grade Washington DC Trip: We had an informational meeting on Wednesday. If you were not able to make it and want information please contact Mr. Harris at jharris@haverhill-ps.org or Ms. Tormbley at strombly@haverhill-ps.org

National Junior Honor Society: Corn Maze October 13th at Kimbal Farms 5pm-8pm
CHEER TEAM TRYOUTS:
~PRACTICES: Are to learn the cheers and the halftime dance. These days are: October 11th, 13th & 14th. You do NOT need to be at all practices to try out. You only need to be there to learn the cheers and dance. You are welcome to be at all 3.
~TRYOUTS: Monday, Oct. 17th and Thursday, Oct. 20th. You only need to be at one tryout. Once you have completed your try out- you may leave.
~RESULTS: Will be posted on Friday, October 21st

How to Participate…
We are asking all families to carve your best Jack-O-Lantern(s) and drop them off at our school between Monday, October 17th and Wednesday, October 19th(please do not bring pumpkins prior to this date).

JGW Drama Club: Join Mr. Gariepy and the JGW Drama Club at their annual Bowl-a-Thon Fundraiser, open to all grade levels and family members of JGW! On Thursday, October 20th @ 4:00pm come down to Academy Lanes in Bradford for an evening of bowling, arcade tokens, free pizza and drinks, and a chance to throw a water balloon at Mr. Gariepy!! It’s a fun event that you don’t want to miss. Stay tuned for more information.
Parent Teacher Conferences: October 27, 2022, 6:00PM -8:00PM. These meetings can be in person or on google meets. Teachers will email classes with information.
Nature Walk from September 29th:
Thank you to all who joined us on the Title 1: Fall Nature Hike with a Conservation Commissioner! A special thanks to Conservation Commissioner Fred Clark who joined us on the hike. We had 216 people from Pentucket Lake, JG Whittier, and Walnut Square attend this fun outdoor event!
