Weekly memo with a lot of great information.

Spelling Bee: Congratulations to our school spelling champion, 8th grader Raquildus Mercado!  In second place was Armaiez Ayala from grade 6 and in third place was 7th grader Jhalia Ayala. These two siblings definitely love spelling!  Tuesday’s spelling bee was exciting and we are so proud of our spellers!

8th Grade In-School Washington DC Trip Meeting: Mr. Harris will meet with the 8th graders attending. At the meeting Mr. Harris will review our code of conduct contract scholars and families must sign. Mr. Harris is also working on a fundraiser he will hopefully be able to present on Wednesday if not he will send information out soon. 

PTO Apparel Fundraiser– Please support our PTO by purchasing JGW POET SWAG. We have great hoodies, fleece vests, T-shirts, hats and jackets.

MATILDA AUDITIONS are February 13th and 14th at JGW. These auditions are open to the district, grades 4 and up. Mr. Gariepy will be visiting homerooms over the next few weeks to pass out flyers. Please stay tuned for more information.

Yearbook

Calling All 8th Grade Artists! Any 8th grade student that is interested in designing the cover for the yearbook this year, should submit it to Ms. Deblasis in room 19, by Wednesday, February 1st. It must be on plain white 8 ½ by 11 computer paper.  Also, it must be in color.  Color Sharpies work best.  If you have any questions, please see Ms. Deblasis.

Volleyball Clinic: Haverhill High School will be hosting a volleyball clinic over February vacation!  This clinic is open to boys and girls grades 6-8.  The clinic will focus on basic skills (passing, serving, and hitting) along with teaching some of the high energy games like drills HHS volleyball uses to prepare athletes for competition.  Cost is $100.  If you have questions, or would like a sign up sheet, please email Mr. Harris.

   2. Progress Reports- *Date CHANGED Tuesday February 14th
   3. Parent Teacher Conferences- Thursday February 16th 6pm-7:30pm. Teachers will send out information. Families will have the choice of in-person or online.
