Hello JGW Community,

We have made it to April vacation! After the break we have 9 weeks left until the last day on Friday, June 23rd. We have made so much progress this year as a school it is remarkable to see the growth of all our scholars. 

End of School Year Important Dates:

JGW Trivia Night: Thursday May 4th- 6pm

National Junior Honor Society Induction Ceremony: Thursday June 8th- 6pm

JGW Sport Banquet: Thursday June 15th- 6pm

• Sports Banquet invites all scholar athletes that participated on the X-Country Team, Soccer, Cheerleading, Basketball, Volleyball, and Track and Field for a night to celebrate their accomplishments. 

JGW Field Day: Tuesday June 20th- During School Day

8th Grade Moving On Ceremony/ Dance: Ceremony 6pm and Dance 7pm-9pm

8th Grade Yearbook Orders:

What is NJHS

The Purposes 

of NHS and NJHS as found in the National Constitutions

1. To create enthusiasm for Scholarship
2. To stimulate a desire to render Service
3. To promote Leadership
4. To develop Character
5. To encourage Citizenship*

The Process for Applying to National Junior Honor Society

1. Make the honor roll or high honor roll both trimesters in all of your academic subjects.
2. Fill out an application completely.
3. Write a solid, detailed essay of at least 500 words explaining why you would be a good candidate for membership into the National Junior Honor Society.
4. Return the application and essay to Mrs. MacKinnon by May 1,2023
5. A faculty council made up of 5 teachers will meet to discuss the applications and decide membership acceptance.
6. In, applicants will be notified they have been accepted or denied as a NJHS member.
7. We are still unsure if there will be an induction ceremony this year.

7th and 8th grade Math- Wednesday 5/3 and Thursday 5/4

5th and 8th grade Science Monday 5/8 and Tuesday 5/9
