JGW Family Memo 6/16

Hello JGW Community,

We are heading into the final week of school.  Next week I will be sending out my home visit dates for the summer. Home visits are a time during the summer where I meet with families at their house with one of our counselors and check in before the school year starts. Last year it was a great way for me to start to build relationships with families. Be on the lookout next week for a sign-up.

No School Monday 6/19

Half Day Friday 6/23

Chromebooks: Scholars that are staying at JGW and in the district heading to Haverhill High School will keep their chromebooks over the summer and bring them back for next school year.

8th Grade Parents- Message from PTO

Hello 8th Grade Families,

J.G. Whittier PTO 8th Grade Dance Committee is requesting your help with donations for the upcoming 8th Grade Promotion Dance. The dance takes place at the school on 06/22/23 from 7-9pm (immediately following the Promotion ceremony at the school.)

We are asking parents to help donate in some capacity to help make this night a success. Our children have worked so hard and we want them to have a fun send-off to high school! Any donation is helpful and appreciated. We also need parent volunteers to help clean up after the dance.

Please review the sign up sheet link below and select what you are able to contribute. If you prefer to make a cash donation, that would also be very helpful and appreciated! All Donations must be dropped off at the school before Wednesday 6/21/23.

JGW started having the ceremony outside during COVID and the location had positive reviews. We will have a stage area and set up chairs for our 8th grade scholars. We ask that family members bring their own lawn chairs to the event if they wish to sit.

Scholars are to arrive at 5:15pm and report in the building to their homeroom.

*If it rains the night of the 22nd we will move the ceremony into the gym.
