Dear JGW Community

This past Wednesday we had our annual Thanksgiving Feast. This event was planned by a committee of staff and implemented by a group of educators wanting to help bring our community together. I want to give a special shout out to Ms. Shirey and Ms. Hamel for leading the staff in pulling this night off. We had over 400 community members in the building and we saw generations of Poets smiling and having a great time.

YMCA Teacher of the year: Congratulations to Ms. Lees and Mr. Gariepy on being celebrated as the YMCA Educators of the Year last night at the Y’s 15th annual ceremony!  Whittier is so fortunate to have such outstanding teachers and we thank you for all you do in our school community!

8th grade fundraiser: Don’t forget to buy your raffle tickets for the chance to win an electric scooter.  Tickets will be $10 each time and you can put your name in  as many times as you would like.  We will announce the winner during announcements on December 20, 2023.

8th Grade Washington DC: The deadline has been extended to February 12th for paperwork and deposit.

Spirit Week: November 20th – November 22nd

Monday November 20th- Crazy Hat Day

Tuesday November 21st-  Pajama Day

Wednesday November 22nd-  Green and White Day- Any scholar wearing green and white or Poet Swag gets five STAR Points
